Why are we different from other UAE sports academies? What makes Star unique?

We are an international organization.

One thing that drives us at Star is to use sports to break down barriers. Our world is increasingly segregated and partitioned; we do not see this as a positive way to build society at Star. Mark is one of the few ways to break down such barriers without conflict or aggression. Sport allows us to see people for what they bring to the table on the court or field, not what they bring due to their politics, religion, opinions, or taste in fashion, music, or anything else.

Sport is a law unto itself in many ways, and we focus on an international hue to everything we do. We have coaches who hail from the Middle East and come from Europe, America, and elsewhere. This gives us a chance to provide an international air of coaching.

This bleeds through into our children, too, where we proudly boast a diverse, multicultural academy setup.

We do not stop

With indoor and outdoor football all year long, we do not stop due to the weather. If you wish to make it as a professional, you cannot let the weather stop you from progressing. That is our mindset and mentality; we ensure it is a significant part of everything we do at Star.

We do not give in to the weather; if outdoor conditions are unsuitable, we move inside. We do not stop simply because of the elements – we merely change venue. Progress is perpetual, too, and for a youngster, there is no such thing as too much opportunity. We give every child part of Star a chance to play football every week without stopping – in later life, these extra reps and opportunities to play could be the difference between a hobbyist and a professional.

Every session is recorded.

One thing that we believe is vital in the growth of our players – and their parents – is being able to see what is happening. The emotion and flow of a sports match mean that the ‘little things’ often pass us by. You might miss an open goal at soccer, but what about the rest of your play? That is why we record every session and match.

This allows for better, focused feedback. We all remember the ‘big’ moments, but it is the easiest part of a game to improve. The moments etched into our minds are the ones we can focus on and fix. What about the little things, like body, field, and positioning relative to teammates? What about their use of both feet and their head? What about seeing the game as a whole?

Our football training sessions and games are recorded so that we can show our children – and their parents- where things are going right (and wrong). Backed up with visual proof, we ensure you are never left feeling like positive feedback or critique is unjust or cannot be proven.

Regular feedback paired with digital innovation

We are the only UAE sports academy providing an open-air feedback program via our in-house app. This app allows students and parents to access our curriculum, access our learning materials, and ensure that you can get regular feedback and insight.

You can also leave feedback on our performance within the app. This helps us ensure that parents and players feel comfortable and respected and do not feel patronised. We do not tell you everything is rosy because that is what you want to hear: we are open, transparent, and truthful. And we are happy for parents and players to be the same – this academy is where honesty is valued.

We have multiple locations across the UAE.

With sports academies in Dubai and Sharjah, Star is not a one-location facility. We have academies across these two critical parts of the UAE. This allows you to quickly get access to one of our coaching programs without having to travel miles to take part in the joy of having sport in your life.

Our academy program is built upon access for all – this is a crucial aspect of our business. With that in mind, we ensure that our UAE sports academies are as accessible as possible. This removes any risk or fear that you could feel geographically excluded from part of the Star Academy system.
